A Few Loose Negatives
Found in a wicker suitcase owned by Catherine Cahalan, John C. Cahalan's last surviving child, these images are derived from undeveloped negatives found in envelopes from which the printed photographs had been removed. After Catherine's death in 1985, the suitcase that contained these pictures went to Ann Marie Cahalan, Catherine's nice, and from Ann Marie to my grandfather, Joseph Cahalan, MD.
The pictures range from the 1920's through 1957, with several identifiable as parts of earlier groups also posted here. Except for one image, the color in these images is a result of reversing the dark/light polarities and treating them tome them clearer.
Numbered in the order in which they were scanned, but only within this group, the collection includes photographs in which figures have been identified; that information is included in the captions to the images. The negatives were first scanned on July 28th, 2019, and have been filed under that date.
