A plastic bag labeled Ionia

These pictures were found in a cleaner's plastic shirt bag labeled “Ionia,” in a wicker suitcase among the affects of Catherine Cahalan.  Both the Needham branch of the family, descendants of Bridget Cahalan Needham, and the family of Anna Hogan Cahalan, wife of John C. Cahalan, Sr., lived in the area around Ionia and Hubbardston, Michigan.  A date of c. 1880 is purely a guess, since some images seem older.

Numbered in the order in which they were scanned--a second number indicates the sequence of images in the album, while a indicates the face, or obverse, of the photo, and b indicates its reverse--the collection includes several photographs which have been identified; that information is included below.
