Found grouped together in a wicker suitcase owned by Catherine Cahalan, John C. Cahalan's last surviving child, these photographs feature an unidentified man. He is shown at the Cahalan house on Orange Street, and with John C. Cahalan's dog, Jack, which would argue that he's a member of the family. It is possible that he is Richard Cahalan, Catherine's brother, since this collection of photos comes from the house where he, Catherine, and their older sister Marion lived, though the likeness seems questionable. Richard would have been about 33 at the time, if the date of 1921 is accurate.

The pictures, taken at different times and in different places (one, labeled "Sycamore Grove, March 19, 1921" shows a family outing or vacation), were chewed by a dog at some point, and they have been numbered in the order that the damage seems to indicate, which is how they were last viewed by those who knew them best--and which might provide clues to identity.  (My thanks for this to the dog, who might well have been Jack, and who features in some photos taken in the yard at 100 Orange Street.)
